Contra Costa County coalition hosts training session for community organizers and protesters
A coalition of local groups is hosting a training session for local residents interested in organizing demonstrations against Trump administration policies. The Contra Costa Non-Cooperation seminar covers how to mobilize communities and effectively organize protests, with networking opportunities with members of local groups experienced in community organizing. Light refreshments and snacks are provided.

Richmond History Museum seeks volunteers for cleanup day, June 28
The Richmond Museum of History and Culture is calling for volunteers to help clean up and restore its facility later this month. The Museum Clean Up Day will include cleaning, painting and moving materials and supporting the museum’s efforts to create additional space for exhibitions, educational programs, community gatherings and collections stewardship. Food and refreshments are provided. “As we continue to expand our public programming and community partnerships, creating a more functional and welcoming space is essential,” said Evelyn Santos, executive director of the museum in a press release. “This volunteer effort is an opportunity for community members to help shape the future of the museum while preserving Richmond’s history for generations to come.”

Sign up for adult summer soccer league
Richmond adults can sign up now for the Riveters League, a recreational adult soccer program kicking off next month. The six-week season runs July 5 through Aug. 16, with games played in 25-minute halves on half-fields across five divisions, including co-ed and women-only groups. Individual memberships are $50 and team memberships are $600, covering summer games, training programs, social events and other club activities through June 30, 2027.
Free college immersion summit is next month
High school sophomores and juniors from Contra Costa County can join other Bay Area students for a free, one-day college immersion program this summer. The Summit, sponsored by the nonprofit 10,000 Degrees College Access Program, offers workshops and resources for students planning to enroll in college. Attendance is first-come, first-served.
