1 | San Pablo hosting summer outdoor movie night, June 12

San Pablo is hosting its first outdoor movie night of the season on Friday with a screening of “How to Train Your Dragon” at the San Pablo Community Center. The second show in the Movies Under the Stars series is “The Goat” on Aug. 14. Families are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets and their favorite snacks.

2 | Music, food, crafts at Rich City Day celebration, June 13

More than a dozen vendors are bringing their goods to the third annual Rich City Day festival at Armistice Brewing Company on Saturday. The celebration of Richmond life also features live music, food and family activities. Dogs on leash are welcome.

3 | NIAD artists offer hundreds of original works at summer solstice sale, June 13

The NIAD gallery is pulling hundreds of original art pieces from its studios for a public sale that organizers describe as a “garage sale meets treasure hunt.” The Summer Solstice Sale will feature a variety of art, T-shirts, mugs, bags and other works by NIAD artists, with some items priced as low as $5 or $10.

4 | Richmond library hosts flower arranging workshop for all skill levels, June 13

Flower enthusiasts can pick up arranging tips and take home a beautiful bouquet at a workshop at the Richmond main library on Saturday. Participants join fellow flower enthusiasts to learn arranging techniques and create their own unique arrangement. All necessary materials are provided.

5 | Look for hidden mushroom art, June 13

Keep your eyes peeled for mushroom-themed art hidden around Richmond and the Bay Area on Saturday. The Game of Shrooms is an annual worldwide event where artists hide their mushroom-themed artworks in public places for anyone to find and keep — think Easter egg hunt, but for art. The Game of Shrooms was started in 2019 by Richmond artist Daniel “Attaboy” Siefert.

6 | Awesome concert along the Richmond waterfront, June 14

The Awesome Orchestra Collective is bringing a symphony of sound to the Richmond shoreline at the Free on the Waterfront concert at Point San Pablo Harbor. The musical gathering also features food from the Sailing Goat restaurant, drinks from a “meadow bar” and dessert from an ice cream truck. The Awesome Orchestra Collective is a 90-piece community orchestra based in Oakland that was founded in 2013.

7 | Music on the Main concerts begin with accordion music, June 18

A trio of summer concerts is returning to downtown Richmond at The Lot, organized by the Richmond Main Street Initiative. The Music on the Main series opens June 18 with Andre Thierry Accordion Soul Music. Performers for the July 9 and Sept. 24 concerts have not yet been announced.
