El Charro Super Mercado

El Charro market on Fruitvale is listed as permanently closed on Yelp. Nosh reader Sarah alerted us to this closure. The owner said it was due to a fire, and that he plans to reopen a shop in Oakland months down the road. The shop sold grocery items, meat, salsas and guacamole, and grilled food. Go Banh Mi

A banh mi shop operating inside Emeryville’s Lanesplitter Pizza has closed, according to E’ville Eye. The shop opened earlier this year. Go Banh Mi, 3645 San Pablo Ave., Emeryville

Souled Out Pastries

If you’ve ever been to a Signal Coffee shop and enjoyed the creative pastries, well, you may be out of luck soon. Souled Out provided seasonal cookies, donuts, and pastries to Signal Coffee Roasters in Berkeley, Alameda and San Francisco. Souled Out’s baker Kelsey Soule shared on Instagram that they are taking a break after six years, and the last day to get the treats at Signal is Oct. 25. However, the baker still plans to hold pop-ups and other events, and hopes to find an investor to open a bakery one day. Taqueria La Familia

As Nosh reported earlier this week, Taqueria La Familia has sold to a new owner who has kept the old staff and menu while also adding Thai dishes to reflect their background as well. The restaurant is now called BKK Mexican and Thai. Taqueria La Familia, 2971 Shattuck Ave. (at Ashby Avenue), Berkeley
