Richmond residents are voting in their first ever primary election for mayor and two city council seats.
For some of these races, the winner could be unofficially known tonight if a candidate secures more than 50% of the votes cast. If no one gets more than 50% of the votes cast in a particular race, the top two vote-getters will move on to the November General Election.

The first round of unofficial primary election results was released by the county at 8:12 p.m., after the polls closed at 8 p.m. The first count included mostly early in-person voting and mail-in ballots. Richmondside will update this story continually tonight with the latest numbers.
