A new milk tea spot just opened in Berkeley. ChaHalo is a chain from Xi’an, China, serving teas made from freshly steeped tea leaves (versus powder mixes). One of its signature drinks is the osmanthus oolong milk tea. ChaHalo, 2041 University Ave., Berkeley

Glom Thai

A new Thai spot has opened in Berkeley. Glom Thai recently soft opened with a menu of small plates, charcoal grilled dishes, whole fish, vegetarian dishes, and curries. Glom is in the former location of Sistory Thai. Glom Thai, 1233 San Pablo Ave., Berkeley

Gurkha Kitchen Express

A Nepali restaurant has opened in Berkeley, serving momos (dumplings), other Nepali dishes, and Indian cuisine. Gurkha has other locations in the Bay Area, including in Hayward, San Jose, and San Ramon. Gurkha Kitchen Express, 2493 Telegraph Ave., Berkeley

Hopkins Cafe

Jamba Juice

The Jamba Juice in Alameda Landing was closed for several months, and is now back open. Jamba Juice, 2650 5th St., Alameda
