Kitava

The Bay area gluten free restaurant chain opened its doors in Walnut Creek last week. The restaurant sells build-your-own bowls and other dishes. Kitava describes itself as a clean restaurant using healthier ingredients, avoiding gluten, dairy, peanuts, and soy. The two other East Bay locations are in North Oakland and Albany. Neighborhood Sports Club

The new soccer club in Jack London neighborhood will hold its grand opening celebration on Saturday, May 16. The club includes a cafe in addition to a retail store and soccer field. Neighborhood Sports Club, 100 Second St., Oakland

Zeng’s Family Kitchen

A new kiosk inside Swan’s Market in Old Oakland has opened, taking over the space that formerly housed Huang Cheng Potsticker. Zeng’s Family Kitchen recently soft opened, debuting a lunch menu that includes mapo tofu, honey walnut shrimp, and kung pao chicken over rice.
