Richmond City Council candidates Brandon Evans and Doria Robinson will discuss the issues facing the district at Easter Hill United Methodist Church today at 6:30 p.m. (Doors open at 6 p.m.) The free event features questions by journalists followed by a community Q&A.
About the forums
Richmondside is partnering with Richmond Confidential, a publication of the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, and The Advocate, the student-led newspaper at Contra Costa College, to co-host and moderate three Richmond candidate forums.
The first was for the mayoral race. The final forum for District 4 city council candidates is May 13 at the De Anza High School library. You can RSVP for that event here. (Don’t know which district you live in? Check your address using the city’s interactive voting boundaries map.)

About the June 2 primary election
This is Richmond’s first-ever primary election after voters passed Measure J, a ballot measure that changed the city’s election system, in 2024. For the primary election, if a candidate receives more than 50% of the votes cast in the primary, they will win and that race won’t advance to a general election run-off in November.
