Roses’ Taproom, an effervescent, longtime staple for local beers and wine in Oakland’s Temescal neighborhood, announced on Instagram it’s closing — but no word yet on when that will be. “This is brutal. After nearly 10 years and millions and beers and an unmeasurable volume of heart filling community connection, Roses’ has sadly come to the end of its time,” the post reads. The closure comes just a few months after the bar announced it was hiring, but owners Hillary Huffard and Luke Janson told the San Francisco Chronicle that slow foot traffic and “astronomical rent” contributed to the decision to close. Roses’ Taproom was located at 4930 Telegraph Ave. (at 49th St.) in Oakland.
