Tunes at The Backyard. This kid and dog friendly outdoor beer and wine garden offers a full menu and live music. This weekend’s line-up includes jazz and alternative pop by Kaitlyn Williams on Sat., Oct. 11, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. On Sun., Oct. 12, guitarist Nilo Ayele will perform from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. On Fri., Oct. 17, karaoke returns from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Backyard, 205 Cutting Blvd. Free.
Poetry at The Factory Bar. Little Hill Lounge. This vintage bar in El Cerrito boasts an eclectic array of music programming, with shows almost nightly that feature everything from ambient jazz, country, karaoke and rock to interesting DJs. On Fri., Oct. 10, the lounge will celebrate its third anniversary with punk band karaoke. There’s also a bingo night on Sat., Oct., 11, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. as well as a county music DJ night on Wed., Oct. 15, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Little Hill Lounge, 10753 San Pablo Ave., El Cerrito.
