Where to see live music in Richmond and more things to do at local watering holes:
Live music on the waterfront. Enjoy live music at the outdoor waterfront Sailing Goat restaurant, with views of San Francisco Bay at San Pablo Harbor. On Fri., Sept. 5, Nathan X Moody delivers his sounds of funk, soul, pop and jazz from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. On Sat., Sept. 6, it’s the indie rock group Big City Trees on stage from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. On Sun., Sept. 7, the quartet Heebie Jeebies will pay tribute to classic rockers from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Sailing Goat, 1900 Stenmark Drive, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Free.
The Factory Bar. The establishment, which features a dog friendly outdoor patio, also hosts food trucks most evenings and live music or a DJ on Thursdays plus comedy once a month. This coming week DJ Sirslushalot will spin tunes on Thur., Sept. 11, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Factory Bar, 12517 San Pablo Ave. Free.
Tunes at The Backyard, a kid and dog friendly outdoor beer and wine garden with a full menu of food as well as music. This weekend’s live music line-up features the jazz and alternative pop sounds of Kaitlyn Williams on Sat., Sept. 6, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. On Sun., Sept. 7, DJ Califia and Red Kicks Krewe will provide some nostalgic beats from noon to 5 p.m. The Backyard, 205 Cutting Blvd. Free.
Music at the winery.  The monthly First Fridays Out will kick off the weekend at the Windchaser Wine Company. The free event is on Fri., Sept. 5, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. It will feature live music from black metal band Phosphurous as well as oysters and drinks from The Factory Bar. On Sat., Sept. 6, R U M Richmond Ukelele Mayhem will perform from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Windchaser Wine Company, 1352 S. 49th St.
Jazz at Riggers Loft Wine Company. The winery has live music on most weekends. On Fri., Sept. 5, Amy Obenski will perform folk, jazz, soul and blues from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. There is a $5 cover charge. On Sat., Sept. 6, Satchmo’s Ghost will take the stage with a tribute to Big Band Swing music from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. There’s a $5 music cover charge. On Sun., Sept. 7, the Primavera Latin Jazz Band will play from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. There is a $5 music cover charge on all three nights. Riggers Loft Wine Company, 1325 Canal Blvd.
Shop, dine, enjoy live music. The Annex, an area for shopping, dining and relaxing adjacent to The Natural Grocery Company’s El Cerrito store, features live music on most Wednesday evenings. The Annex, 10387 San Pablo Ave., El Cerrito.
