El Patio
In a heavy-hearted Instagram post, El Patio, a beloved West Berkeley bar and restaurant, announced it will be closing in early July. “We’ve watched kids grow up and eat their first limes here. We’ve seen people on first dates and some even get married after that first date. We’ve been here for your celebrations of life, birthdays and even weddings. We rocked a pandemic together and through your support kept us alive and all our employees employed,” the post said.
Serving Mexican and Venezuelan dishes alongside a full bar menu with over 300 different mezcal varieties, El Patio will continue to offer catering across their food and drink program, including tequila and mezcal tastings. According to ownership, the last day of service is July 3. El Patio was located at 2056 San Pablo Ave. (at Addison St.) in Berkeley.
