East Bay restaurants have been getting some much deserved love recently. In October, Conde Nast Traveler readers voted Oakland the best food city in the United States. Not long after, Eater included Fikscue in Alameda as one of the best new restaurants in the country, and Bon Appetit named Popoca in Old Town Oakland one of the 20 best new restaurants nationwide. The cherry on top was Burdell, the upscale soul food restaurant in Temescal, garnering Food & Wine magazine’s nod for restaurant of the year

So, the national publications had their say, now it’s time for you, the food lovers of the East Bay, to weigh in with the annual Nosh Awards.

This year Nosh is handing out accolades in seven categories: Best New Restaurant, Best Restaurant Overall, Best Restaurant for Special Occasions, Best New Bar, Best Bar Overall, Best Beer Garden/Taproom and Saddest Closure of 2024.

If you need a refresher on what opened and closed this year, you can reference our openings and closings sections, and the Nosh Features section is also a great place to review some of the biggest developments in East Bay dining in 2024.

Nominations will be accepted through Sunday, Nov. 24, and will be followed by a two-week voting period to pick the winners in each category. Winners will be announced at the end of the year.
