1 | ‘First Fridays’ event features oysters, burgers and wine, April 3

Windchaser Wine Company is hosting an evening of oysters, live music, and wine. Their First Fridays Out event will also include food from Pickles N’ Smoke barbecue and cocktails from the Factory Bar. Mill Valley rock band Sourflower will perform live.

2 | Festival Opera at the Mac returns, April 3

Catch a night at the opera at a historic hotel in Point Richmond. The Festival Opera at the Mac series presents opera on the first Friday of every month at Biancoverde, the Italian restaurant inside the Hotel Mac. This time attendees will enjoy the music of soprano Kristen Campbell with Zachary Gordin at the piano, as well as Broadway musical theater highlights.

3 | Community seder will celebrate Passover holiday, April 4

Temple Beth Hillel is inviting the public to attend a community seder to celebrate Passover. The Passover Community Seder will include a retelling of the Passover story along with ritual foods, cups of wine and grape juice, and seasonal songs. A festive meal will also be served. Participants are also welcome to bring a kosher-for-Passover dessert to serve.

4 | Do-it-yourself Easter baskets community event, April 4

You can make your own Easter basket at a community gathering sponsored by the Keyz 2 The Future organization. The Build an Easter Basket festivities will feature games, crafts and egg hunts along with the opportunity to create a personal Easter basket. Keyz 2 The Future is a nonprofit whose mission is to support Black and Brown children in the Bay Area who face grief from gun violence and parental loss.

5 | Hindu Holi ‘festival of colors’ celebration at Nicholl Park, April 4

A colorful gathering will be held at Nicholl Park to mark the arrival of spring. The Holi Celebration, sponsored by the city’s Community Services Department, will feature family-oriented activities. Holi, also known as the Festival of Colors, is a Hindu celebration that marks spring’s arrival, the triumph of good over evil and the legendary love between the divine couple Radha and Krishna. It dates back to the fourth century.

6 | City hosting Spring Break Camp for schoolchildren, April 6-10

Children can attend a week of activities camp during their spring break from school. Spring Break Camp 2026 will be available for children from kindergarten through eighth grade. The participants can enjoy games, crafts and spring activities in a safe, positive and energetic environment from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

7 | Bird watching with East Bay Park District naturalist, April 6

Naturalist Paula Urtecho will lead a community bird watching hike through the hills of east Richmond on April 6 with the East Bay Regional Park District. She’ll guide participants on a scenic walk through the Sobrante Ridge Botanic Regional Preserve. This is a drop-in program, so no registration is required. All ages are welcome.

8 | Library hosts Lego engineering class for kids, April 7

The city’s main library is kicking off spring break with a hands-on Lego engineering class for kindergartners through eighth grade. The Scientific Adventures for Children course puts young builders in the driver’s seat of a STEM exploration session. The spring break programming continues with a neuroscience class at the West Branch library in Richmond on Wed., April 8, as well as a chemistry seminar at the Bayview Branch on Thur., April 9.
