Take your furry “pee wee pal” for a small dog walk along the Richmond coastline. The Pee Wee Pals Small Dog Meetup has organized a Small Dog Stroll at Point Isabel Regional Shoreline. Organizers say the free event consists of “little legs, big attitudes and plenty of sniff breaks.”

2 | Spring egg hunts in the park and a pool, March 28
Children can participate in two city-sponsored spring egg hunt events.
The Annual Spring Egg Hunt is being held at Nicholl Park. 3 | Taste of Richmond will spotlight local restaurants, March 28
You can sample some Richmond food and beverages as well as pick up some crafts at the Taste of Richmond. There will also be items for sale from local artisans. Those in attendance must be at least 13 years old.

4 | Kick up your heels at a spring swing dance aboard USS Red Oak, March 28
You can swing to some classic music aboard the historic USS Red Oak Victory along the Richmond shoreline. The 2026 Spring Swing Dance will feature Nick Rossi and His Swing Four. There will also be a dance lesson provided by Suzie Hardt of the Hidden City Ballroom in Point Richmond. Hot dogs and other snacks as well as alcohol will be available for purchase. Attendees will also be able to take a tour of the historic World War II warship, the last surviving vessel of the 747 built in the Richmond shipyards during the war.

5 | No Kings protests in multiple west Contra Costa locations, March 28
Several demonstrations against the policies of the Trump administration will take place on Sat., March 28, in Richmond and other west Contra Costa County cities.
In Richmond protesters will gather at Civic Center Plaza for a 10 a.m. march followed by a noon rally at 24th Street and Barrett Avenue parking lot.
In Pinole there will be a rally at Fernandez Park from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. From there, participants will gather for a protest in downtown Pinole at the corner of San Pablo Avenue and Tennett Avenue from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Protesters will then return to the park for a bring-your-own picnic that will include music and children’s activities from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The day will end with a visibility brigade on the California Street bridge over Interstate 80 in Rodeo from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Another “No Kings” demonstration will be held in El Sobrante. The protest is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at San Pablo Dam Road and Appian Way. “We want to empower our community with an opportunity to push back against President Trump and his violent administration’s authoritarian actions, said Derlin Hsu, an activist with Indivisible North East Bay, which is co-sponsoring the events with Indivisible West CoCo County.

6 | Painting workshop will feature Richmond youths’ artwork
You can try your hand at watercolors while recognizing fine artwork by Richmond youths at the Youth Artist Public Workshop being held at NIAD. The public is invited to paint a watercolor portrait. Ten people will then be selected for a community art project. Each participant will receive a $200 stipend and have their painting displayed on light pole banners along 23rd Street. No registration is required.

7 | Mr. Elephant will fill the library with music, March 28
Children and adults can enjoy a variety of music when Mr. Elephant visits the library this weekend. The children’s performer will sing songs ranging from rock to reggae to bossa nova. The family-oriented event is designed for all ages.
