2nd-to-last summer concert in Point Richmond
The second-to-last in a series of summer street parties will play out in Point Richmond on Friday.
At the free musical extravaganza, the group Burrows and Dilbeck will hit the stage at 5 p.m. followed by Big Blue Soul Revue at 6:45 p.m. The annual summer concert series is sponsored by Point Richmond Music.
The final concert is scheduled for Sept. 12.
Local restaurants are open during the free event, and there are food pop-up booths. Displays from The Arts of Point Richmond will be on hand as will activities such as face painting for children. Attendees often dance in the streets.

Marina Bay Movies in the Park features ‘Moana 2’
You can sit under the stars and catch a popular children’s movie during another city-sponsored community event.
The latest installment of the summer Movies in the Park series will feature the Disney film, ‘Moana 2.’
People going to the free family-friendly event are advised to bring blankets and something to sit on.
The final summer movie will be on Fri., Aug. 22, with the showing of ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3.’

Learn how to have a ‘smooth’ diet
You can sample some smoothies and learn about healthy diets at a park.
Smoothies in the Park will feature a climate-friendly workshop as well as demonstration on making smoothies and a free produce giveaway.
The free event is family friendly. It is sponsored by Urban Tilth, a nonprofit that trains local residents to cultivate agriculture, feed their community and restore relationships to land.

Tostadas, film and music all in one night
You can listen to music, watch some short films and enjoy tostadas at the aptly named Los Cenzontles Cultural Arts Academy’s Music, Films and Tostadas event.
The event will feature music by the Los Cenzontles band as well as a screening of new three short films.
Admission is free for guests 17 years old and younger. Tickets for adults are $15.

Pancakes and music aboard an historic ship
You can have breakfast and listen to live music at a fundraiser aboard the historic SS Red Oak Victory ship.
At the Summer 2025 Pancake Breakfast, visitors can enjoy a morning meal of pancakes, sausage, bacon and scrambled eggs while listening to live music from The Sites Show.
Tours of the World War II era ship are also available. The radio room will be open for those who want to broadcast messages around the world.
Breakfast is served from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The ship is open for tours until 4 p.m.
Tickets are $20 plus fees for adults and older children. Tickets are $5 plus fees for children 8 years old and younger.
The SS Red Oak is the last surviving of the 747 ships that were built at the Kaiser Shipyards in Richmond.

Meet local artists at a waterfront restaurant
A reception for local artists will give community members a chance to learn more about the Richmond’s art world.
The Artists’ Reception at Lara’s Fine Dining will feature works from the Arts of Point Richmond’s Summer AOPR Exhibit, now on view at the waterfront restaurant.
Appetizers will be catered by Anh’s Kitchen. A no-host bar will also be open.

Marina Bay community get-together is Saturday
Neighbor-to-Neighbor is co-sponsoring a community get-together in Marina Bay. At this event, residents can meet one another while enjoying refreshments, games and music.
Organizers say the event, “is designed to foster neighborly connections and community spirit, aims to create and strengthen community bonds, and incorporates vendor participation.”
