Assemble Kitchen (temporary closure)
Assemble Kitchen, a waterfront gastropub situated on the Marina Bay Trail in Richmond, has closed temporarily for renovations. Assemble Kitchen was a mainstay for items like lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes, chicken pesto sandwiches and dirty martinis with blue cheese-stuffed olives. Stay tuned for word on its reopening. Assemble Kitchen was located at 1414 Harbour Way S. in Richmond.
Baby Cafe
Baby Cafe has departed the Emeryville Public Market, per the E’Ville Eye. The Hong Kong-style cafe was a fast-casual spot for milk teas and lunch plates like Hainan chicken rice and curry beef stew. Its San Leandro location is still open. Baby Cafe was located at 5959 Shellmound St. in Emeryville.
Rotten City Pizza
After 17 years of slinging pies for the city of Emeryville, Rotten City has closed its doors, the E’Ville Eye reports. The New York-style pizza joint may have a chance of surviving if the employees can cook up a viable employee ownership model. For now, its website has been wiped clean, and its Yelp page states the restaurant is closed. Rotten City was at 6613 Hollis St. (at 66th St.) in Emeryville.
