Show your home country pride at Patrias Fiestas Parade

Mark your calendar for Sat. Sept. 13 to attend the Richmond/San Pablo Fiestas Patrias Peace and Unity Parade.
The parade, held in September for the second year, marks a coming together of cultures by celebrating the independence anniversaries of numerous Latin American countries, such as Mexico, Chile, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Brazil.
Organizers said the event will feature traditional music, dance, vibrant costumes and floats echoing the rich cultural heritage of each nation represented. Last year’s event featured a diverse mix of youth soccer teams, WCCUSD schools/classrooms, civic groups, musicians, cultural organizations, Charros on horseback and classic cars.
Full details haven’t been released yet, but it will begin at 10 a.m. at 23rd Street and Barrett Avenue in Richmond. Last year the parade ended at St. Paul’s Church, 1845 Church Lane in San Pablo.
“This event continues to grow and solidify its place as a cornerstone of our community’s cultural celebrations,” said Genoveva Calloway, co-chair of the parade planning committee, in a Facebook post. “Seeing the way the community has embraced this tradition is truly inspiring. We are looking forward to making 2025 even more spectacular!”
