The Cheeseboard Cheese Shop and Bakery
The Cheese Board is temporarily closing the cheese shop and bakery from March 29-April 9 to finish out the long awaited expansion into the adjacent space (formerly The Produce Center) on Shattuck Avenue. The worker-owned cooperative, which first opened in 1975, has a pizzeria – typically with long lines for their daily vegetarian sourdough crust pizzas (and their famous “green sauce”) – a cheese shop, and a bakery. During construction, the bakery and cheese shop has been operating out of a temporary shipping container. The last day that will be open before the new space opens is Saturday, March 28, until the soft re-opening on April 10. The expansion will allow better flow and more space for prep and a better experience. Note that the pizzeria remains open during this time! The Cheese Board, 1504 Shattuck Ave., Berkeley
Las Delicias Salvadoran
The Salvadoran and Mexican restaurant in downtown Berkeley has closed. The restaurant served an array of dishes, from breakfast to seafood platters, and pupupas. The family-run restaurant opened during the pandemic and was one of the few Salvadoran restaurants in the area. Las Delicias Salvadoran, 2037 Kala Bagai Way, Berkeley.
Juice House Co.
One of the Bay Area’s juice and smoothie companies is closing all of its stores on April 4. The shop sells organic, cold-pressed juices, cold brews, nut milks, and kombucha in glass bottles. “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of JUICE HOUSE CO. over the years. this community has meant so much to us. we hope to see you in before we close,” the owner shared on Instagram. As part of a final farewell, the company released a downloadable e-recipe book for $19 with recipes for all of their juices.
