Butter’s Burgers
The Napa-based smash burger joint — run by a French Laundry alum Christopher Ruiz — is opening a second location at Armistice Brewing Company beer garden in Richmond. The truck soft opened March 23 for lunch service, and will have its grand opening April 3. Fans of the Napa-based spot that serves quarterpounder and double quarterpounder smashburgers, a Japanese-style fried chicken sandwich, pastrami, Impossible burgers, and loaded fries, can rejoice at the new option in Richmond. Cinnaholic
Cinnaholic is back. Founded by Shannon Radke in Berkeley, the shop on the North Side of Cal campus is now in new hands. The bakery serves not-your-regular cinnamon buns – all vegan, with an assortment of toppings (although they do also sell plain and vanilla frosted ones). With flavors like caramel apple pie roll, made with caramel, apples, pecans, and pie crumble, plus a BYO (build your own) roll, the possibilities are limitless. Cinnaholic soft opened last March 20, and is holding its grand opening on Friday, April 3, with $2 signature rolls. Cinnaholic, 2505 Hearst Ave., Suite D, Berkeley.
H Mart
H Mart is opening a location in Dublin this week. The popular Korean grocery store chain officially opens on March 26. The New York-based chain opened a location in San Francisco two years ago to much fanfare, and the Dublin location is its first in the East Bay. H Mart is also building the largest H Mart yet, set to open in Fremont. H Mart, 7884 Dublin Blvd., Dublin.
Leña
A new Mexican restaurant debuts in Alameda, opening on March 28. Leña is located at the former Comedy Club on Central Avenue. Grand opening festivities include live music and performances, with an official ribbon-cutting on April 2. Leña, 2431 Central Ave., Alameda.
North Italia
The Northern Italian restaurant opens March 25. The restaurant chain originates from Arizona, and is about to open its 50th location in the U.S. Owned by The Cheesecake Factory Company, the menu includes pastas, pizzas, and specialty dishes such as seared scallops, braised short rib marsala, and a Sunday night lasagna North Italia, 1179 Locust St., Walnut Creek.
Our Family Table
A new Chinese restaurant has opened in downtown Berkeley. On the menu? With mostly Northern Chinese-focused dishes, Our Family Table has dumplings, baos, beef noodle soup, scallion pancakes, and more offerings. The new restaurant is in the former Las Deliciaas Salvadoran space. Our Family Table, 2037 Kala Bagai Way, Berkeley.
