A new cafe dedicated to Vietnamese coffee and food has soft opened in Berkeley. On the menu? Espresso drinks using Vietnamese coffee beans roasted in house, ca phe sua da with optional black sesame, ube, or pandan foam, salted coffee, and matcha. Pastries are provided by SF-based Neighbor Bakehouse. Lunch items include banh mi, noodle bowls, and rice bowls. The name of the cafe is a reference to “garage,” which the sibling-owners told SF Gate is a nod to their family’s businesses that were based out of their garages. Co-owner Kasmira Nguyen tells NOSH that they are planning a grand opening for next week. Along with Ox 9 and Rice Dynasty, this block on Telegraph Avenue near the Berkeley campus is bringing exciting Asian flavors to the masses. GA.RA, 2424 Telegraph Ave., Berkeley.
