Two 36-year-old Richmond men were shot, one critically injured and the other fatally, on Monday night in San Pablo, according to police.

San Pablo police said a Richmond man was fatally shot Monday at about 9:07 p.m. and another person was critically wounded.

The shooting was in the 1400 block of Rumrill Boulevard, poloce said in a press release.

The two male victims had been shot multiple times and were taken to a hospital. One, a 36-year-old Richmond resident, died.. The second man, also a 36-year-old Richmond resident, remains in critical condition. Their identities are being withheld.

The death was the second in a matter of hours. At about 1:45 p.m. Monday Richmond police reported a homicide in the Hilltop District neighborhood after an IHOP employee was found with a head injury and gunshot wound inside of the restaurant’s kitchen.

San Pablo Police Department detectives are investigated the shooting as a homicide and said no one has been arrested.
